Civil-patriotic upbringing of student youth of Kazakhstan in the conditions of modernization of public consciousness
This article is the result of many years of theoretical and experimental research on the problem of the formation of civil-patriotic qualities in young people – the students who are the vanguard of Kazakhstani youth. Large-scale transformations taking place in the Republic of Kazakhstan are impossible without the transformation of public consciousness; the modernization of Kazakhstani society cannot be productive without the formation of a new type of personality. In this view, the upbringing of young citizens in the spirit of Kazakhstani patriotism, which is a new paradigm of the state ideology of the Republic, becomes especially urgent. Students shall possess not only professional knowledge but also the knowledge of democracy foundations and the skills of civil activity to become responsible and active citizens. The author’s concept is based on the activity-axiological approach that relies on the unity of three components: cognitive, value-motivational, and socially-active. The proposed model includes forms, methods, means, and stages of organization of educational work, as well as the criteria for civil-patriotic education of future specialists.
